Project Black S Concept: Meet Infiniti's Hybrid Technology
April 29 2023,
Infiniti is all about the future, and their Project Black S concept is here to take Formula One racing to a whole new level. Designed for the track and just as smooth on the road, Project Black S is a concept that combines hybrid technology with ultimate performance to deliver speed that pushes boundaries like never before.
This concept is a collaboration between Infiniti and Renault to set a new standard for the Infiniti coupes for future generations. The prototype is the core that remains the centre of evolution, with new innovations for an electric powertrain that limits the use of fuel on the track.
What to Expect?
Although ambitious, this concept can redefine the rules for racing by testing and demonstrating what an electrified powertrain is capable of doing when combined with the right technology and strategy. Although this seemed like a dream a while ago, with automakers as talented as Renault and Infiniti, the concept could become a reality very soon.
The project demonstrates how Infiniti is developing a powertrain that’s all-electric and delivers supreme performance. What lies at the heart of this system is an F1 race car which will harvest heat and kinetic energy and give the supercar an instant boost of electric lag-free acceleration and torque.
Performance
With a whopping 536 hp, the Black S concept will take EVs to where it’s never been explored before. Another feature that sets this concept apart is the instant stop feature. Crafted with a brake-by-wire system, carbon ceramic discs, and supreme control, the brake system is consistent and effective in stopping instantly.
Although this is still a prototype, it’s the first ever time heat and kinetic energy will be harvested for an acceleration boost. The concept is smart, sustainable, and satisfying on multiple levels.
Features
The exteriors are inspired a little by Infiniti’s Q60 where it gets its curves and sleek lines. They are designed to deliver an aerodynamic exterior for better speed. The entire body of this project Black S is crafted with carbon fibre, making it lightweight so it can fly on the track with nothing holding it back. There are vents placed at various points on the car’s body.
These are key to maintaining the temperature and providing airflow for better performance. It also has an aero-efficiency feature with the rear wing, which takes inspiration from Renault’s F1 race car. This helps to reduce the drag and also provides a firmer grip on the road.
Conclusion
Project Black S, as the name suggests, features black styling with hints of yellow accents that provide a striking contrast that looks energized, bold, and beautiful. Although still in its early stages, project Black S surely sounds like something worth the wait and a concept that can redefine Formula 1 for the better.
