Direct Adaptive Steering

pioneered this feature in the automotive industry. It lets the driver choose between three steering modes. The idea behind this feature is to provide the driver with a better grip on different road conditions. The inner workings are a technological marvel, and the steering gets transformed into electronic signals. These control the angle of the tires independently and the steering force.

This system isolates the driver from road vibrations while improving precision when steering. For example, Direct Adaptive Steering significantly reduces the impact  of potholes when driving. The driver doesn't need to adjust the steering when passing over them.

This exciting feature is available on the Q60 Coupe and Q50 Sedan.

VC-Turbo Engine

Again first in its class, the new VC-Turbo engine is one of the most advanced internal combustion engines we’ve come across. It's categorized as a "production variable compression ratio engine". This engine adjusts the compression ratio and running speed at each moment. For those unfamiliar with how engines work, conventional engines have a fixed compression ratio.

The VC-Turbo engine adapts to the road conditions . It helps to lower fuel consumption and is also important for improving the emissions levels. Since the engine adapts its performance, it reduces contaminants in the air when driving requires less power. The good news is that this engine is available in the QX50.

Dynamic Digital Suspension

This feature monitors the car's pitch and bounce rate to adjust the suspension. It helps to reduce vibrations from the road automatically, and allows the driver to make the suspension softer or firmer.

This is very useful for creating different experiences according to your driving style. A softer suspension makes driving over bumps and irregularities easier, whereas a stiffer suspension offers better handling and is commonly found in high-performance sports cars. These options are configured through the Drive Mode Selector.

A lot of advanced tech goes behind this feature, and it is offered in the Q60 models. . . These technological improvements include new suspension links and bushings with new electronic dampers.
