INFINITI EV launch in Canada

With a plan to launch its first electric vehicle by 2025, the luxury SUV brand will soon be coming to the EV table. Many of the brand’s rivals are already making their own EVs, with BMW and Audi already offering models in Canada. However, there are several priorities before the launch of INFINITI’s first EV.

A New Hope

The launch of the QX60 showed a tremendous boost for the brand, with their vehicles finally breaking past years of sluggish sales. With supply chain issues slowly being managed, there’s no doubt about the volume of sales to come.

However, it is expected that the brand will have a tight inventory until sometime in 2023 due to production issues. It’s a microchip shortage that is causing the massive delay.

Taking it Slow

The president of INFINITI, Peyman Kalgar, has stated that the production of EVs isn’t far from the top of their list of priorities. However, INFINITI is taking a slow, non-aggressive approach and prepping their dealers before launching their first electric vehicle. Additionally, the brand is waiting for a better infrastructure for EVs before their launch.

INFINITI’s first EV, a sedan, will arrive in 2025 alongside its Nissan counterpart.

Give it Time

Even though the brand is behind many of its competitors, the president and chairman, Peyman Kagar, isn’t concerned. The brand has focused on fine-tuning its design while the demand for EVs in Canada is still low.
